Education

Providing quality education is the longstanding hallmark of BVMs. Today’s educational ministries are diverse and encompassing. We are teachers and administrators in pre-schools, elementary and high schools, literacy centers, colleges and universities. A growing number of our Sisters are educating new immigrants.

Pastoral Ministry

The parish is the heart of ministry for the BVMs who are pastoral associates and administrators, directors of religious education and adult faith formation. Our Sisters also provide leadership in retreat and renewal centers, and serve as companions on the spiritual journey.

Healing and Reconciliation

BVMs extend God’s healing love in hospital settings, counseling the grief-stricken, married couples and young persons in pain. They work at building conflict-resolution and mediation skills, serve as chaplains at correctional institutions, and journey with the aging.

Works of Justice

Our Sisters are committed to work against oppression brought about by unjust political and social structures – locally, nationally and internationally. Action on behalf of peace and justice is woven into BVM spirituality and all ministries as a key part of Gospel living.
