The BVM congregation has a close, collaborative relationship
with these ministries. They are an integral part of our history
and core values:
- Carmel
High School, Mundelein, Illinois: A four-year
college-prep Catholic high school, a three-time winner
of the Blue Ribbon Award for Excellence from the U.S.
Department of Education, with more than 1340 students.
BVM Mary Fran McLaughlin is president of Carmel High School.
Clarke
College, Dubuque, Iowa: Founded by the BVMs
in 1843, rated among the Best Colleges by U.S. News and
World Report, educates more than 1,000 undergraduate and
graduate students. BVM Catherine Dunn is president of
Clarke College.
- Ann
Ida Gannon, BVM Center for Women and Leadership, Loyola
University, Chicago: Promotes women’s programs
and progress, and houses archives documenting women in
leadership and education. BVM Carolyn Farrell is director
of the Gannon Center.
- Roberta Kuhn Center for Senior Citizens, Dubuque
Iowa: On-going education on the Mount Carmel
campus. More than 300 seniors choose from more than 30
courses each semester. The create works of art, learn
a new language, study theology and history, and find a
